We care about protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains which data is processed in the Costify app, how, and for what purposes. The legal bases are the GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation) and applicable national law.

3. Which Data We Process

a) User Account (Registration & Login)

These data are stored and managed via Firebase Authentication and Firebase Firestore.

b) App Content (Trackers & Expenses)

Location access is required to suggest the local currency for the currency converter.
Location data are not stored permanently but used only at runtime for conversion.

d) Currency Converter & External API

We use the external ExchangeRate-API for the currency converter.
Your IP address is transmitted to the provider for technical reasons.

e) Usage Analysis (for testing purposes)

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymized usage statistics.
Purpose: to improve the app and analyze features.

f) RevenueCat

Costify uses RevenueCat, a third-party service provided by RevenueCat, Inc., to collect analytics related to app usage and subscriptions.

RevenueCat is used solely for analytics and measurement purposes, such as understanding app performance, subscription activity, and feature usage.

Costify does not use RevenueCat to display paywalls, process payments directly, or manage purchases within the app. All purchases, if applicable, are handled exclusively through Apple’s App Store and Apple’s in-app purchase system.

RevenueCat may collect limited technical information, such as device identifiers, app version, and anonymized usage data, in order to provide its analytics services. This data is used only to improve the reliability and functionality of the app.

g) Marketing & Advertising

We promote the Costify app through various advertising platforms such as the Apple App Store, Google, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok, X (Twitter), and Reddit.

When you interact with advertisements for Costify (for example by clicking on an ad), the respective platform may process certain information in order to measure ad performance and attribute installs or conversions.

This may include anonymized technical data such as:

For Meta (Facebook and Instagram) advertising, we use Meta’s app tracking technologies (such as the Facebook SDK) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and to understand how users interact with our app after installing it.

This may include the collection of anonymized data such as app installs, app opens, and in-app events (e.g., adding expenses or starting a subscription). These data help us improve our marketing and deliver more relevant advertisements.

Processing only takes place if you have given consent via the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt on your device.

For TikTok advertising campaigns, TikTok may process certain technical information to measure advertising effectiveness and app installs. This may include conversion tracking mechanisms such as the TikTok Ads attribution system.

5. Storage and Deletion

Your data are stored for as long as you use the app.
You may delete your account at any time. Your data and content will then be deleted in Firestore or anonymized in trackers.
Cache data (e.g., exchange rates) are stored locally on your device and automatically overwritten after a maximum of 1 hour.

You can delete your account and all associated data directly within the Costify app.
